This page provides information for people considering moving their domain(s) 'into' our service from another ISP. If you already have a domain name and wish to transfer it 'to' another ISP please refer to your control panel.
In order to transfer a domain to us, you must own or have control of the domain. You should make sure that the company currently holding your domain will allow transfers away from them. Also, you should check if there is any charge made by the company holding the domain for the domain to be transferred away from them.
.uk Domains
Once you have placed your order with us, you will need to request with the company currently hosting your domain that the domain be transferred to our IPS-KEY. Our IPS-KEY is 'GETSURFED' (exactly as written, but not including the quotes), and you should supply this to the hosting company. Once supplied with this, they should be able to make the change.
If you wish, you can request the transfer of the domain to our IPS-KEY after placing your order here - the order will still be accepted and processed by us. However, you should be aware that we will be unable to make any changes to your domain, or complete the configuration of your account here, until the domain has been moved to our IPS-KEY. For this reason, we would advise that you request that the domain be changed to our IPS-KEY before placing your transfer order with us. This should guarantee a quick response once we have received your order, as we will not have to wait for the IPS-KEY to be changed.
International Domains
When you request a transfer, the registrar we use (OpenSRS) will send the current administrative contact for your domain an email asking them to authorise transfer of the domain. If your current registrar is the administrative contact, you should tell them to accept the request. If you are the administrative contact for the domain. If you're the administrative contact then you'll need to accept the transfer yourself.
